Elon Musk’s xAI adds ‘Big Brain’ reasoning to Grok-3

Grok-3 has been unveiled by Elon Musk’s xAI, with the AI model boasting over ten times the computing power of its predecessor.
Early testing shows that it outperforms OpenAI’s GPT-4o, Google’s Gemini and DeepSeek’s V3 in terms of performance.
“Think” and “Big Brain” are two reasoning modes in Grok-3 that are designed to answer more complex questions via fact-checking and breaking instructions down into smaller, more manageable tasks.
The new Grok AI agent product, Deep Search, serves as a “next generation search engine” and is available as an additional subscription plan called SuperGrok, in addition to the newly rebranded X Premium Plus, which has recently seen a price rise to $40 per month.
Customers can also look forward to a voice interface that mimics OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT, along with Grok-2 being made open source.
