Summary
Mobile tech company Murena has released its first tablet, which it has customized with its privacy-focused operating system /e/OS that removes Google’s services and apps from Android.
The Murena Pixel Tablet is a customized version of Google’s 2023 Pixel Tablet and is available through Murena’s online store for $549.
The device does not include a charging speaker dock, but customers get the benefit of anonymous browsing and the knowledge that their data is not being tracked.
However, the removal of the Google Play Store also means users cannot download paid apps, as they would normally need a Google account to do so.
Those who do sign up for the Murena Pixel Tablet are offered alternatives to Google’s productivity apps, as well as 1GB of secure online storage through Murena Workspace.
