According to sources, Microsoft is preparing its server capacity for OpenAI’s GPT-4.5 and GPT-5 models.
OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, recently confirmed that GPT-4.5 is set for release in a matter of weeks, and the new AI model is expected to be available for use hosted by Microsoft as early as next week.
Although no date has been confirmed for GPT-5, it is expected that it will arrive in late May.
GPT-5 will include improvements to how users engage with ChatGPT.
It will also include OpenAI’s new o3 reasoning model.
Both models will be aimed at reducing model confusion by streamlining OpenAI’s various AI models.
GPT-5’s release would align with Microsoft’s Build Developer Conference, kicking off on May 19, 2023.
