Reddit experienced more problems on 21 February following issues reported yesterday, with users reporting issues accessing the site on certain browsers and logging in.
Reddit’s status page admitted to an intermittent problem and said it was investigating the issue.
A fix was implemented about two hours later, though Downdetector still showed a high volume of outage reports.
This incident followed problems yesterday that led to an “international outage”, according to NetBlocks, although some users reported that the site was still usable for them.
The site is vulnerable to these sorts of problems because it is built on a decentralised system, which means any issues with a single data centre can lead to problems for users across the globe.
