On Thursday Disney CEO Bob Iger stated during an earnings call that 60% of new subscribers to Disney Plus are opting for the ad-supported plan.
In April, Disney is expected to roll out a new ad-supported streaming bundle in the US, which will include Disney Plus, Hulu, and Max, with both ad-supported and ad-free options.
The new bundle will be available to purchase through each of the three streamer’s websites.
At the end of Q4 2024, profit from Disney’s streaming services Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus soared to 321million,upfrom47 million last quarter.
Disney is planning to launch a streaming-only version of ESPN in 2025, in addition to a new partnership with Fox and Warner Bros for a live sports streaming service.
