New leaks suggest Samsung’s Z Fold 7 is getting much thinner

Summary
Samsung’s upcoming Fold 7 is rumoured to be even thinner than Oppo’s recently released Find N5, which was marketed as the world’s thinnest foldable phone.
The Find N5 is 4.2mm thick and the Magic V3, previously the record holder, is 4.4mm thick, while the Fold 7 is rumoured to be just 4.5mm thick.
This would make the Fold 7 the thinnest foldable phone on the US market, with its Z Fold 6 predecessor 5.6mm thick, and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold 5.1mm thick.
It is thought that the Fold 7’s larger 8.2-inch inner screen, compared to the 7.6-inch inner screen on the Fold 6, has enabled Samsung to fit a 4,400mAH battery into a thinner design.
The Fold 7 is expected to be launched in July 2025 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but Samsung may delay the launch of its first tri-fold phone.
