Summary
Messaging service Beeper, purchased by Automattic in 2024, has launched a new beta desktop and iOS app.
The service merges Beeper with texting service Texts, which was acquired in 2023, offering a universal messaging service to connect users to platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram and Slack.
The new desktop app has been built from scratch, while the iOS version has been developed using the foundations of the Texts desktop app.
Beeper plans to include support for Apple’s protocol and has pledged further updates, including fully encrypted messages.
The beta versions can be accessed through the Beeper website.
