Gaming company Microsoft has announced that its upcoming fantasy title Fable will be delayed by a year and is now scheduled to release in 2026.
In an appearance on the official Xbox podcast, Xbox Games Studios chief Craig Duncan said the company wants to give Fable “more time” and that the company is “unequivocally confident” in the Playground Games team.
Fable was originally scheduled for release in 2025 and will centre on a hero named Humphrey, who is forced into retirement when a mysterious figure threatens the existence of Albion.
Playground Games is best known for its work on the Forza Horizon series.
Meanwhile, Microsoft still has a number of upcoming titles to release in 2025, such as South of Midnight, Doom: The Dark Ages, The Outer Worlds 2, and Gears of War: E-Day.
