Victrola’s cheapest Sonos-compatible turntable is over half off today

• Sonos fans are having a good week with the introduction of a sale for existing customers, as well as the Victrola Stream Onyx turntable being discounted by more than half price.
• The turntable, which turned out to be the entry-level model in Victrola’s ‘Works with Sonos’ range, is on sale at Woot for $249.99,adiscountof$350.
• The discount ends on February 28 and the Onyx allows users to play vinyl records through their Sonos system without needing any additional equipment.
• It looks similar to the more expensive models in the range, thanks to its compact design, metal platter and an illuminated volume control.
• To cut costs, however, Victrola used cheaper thick moulded plastic for the Onyx rather than higher-quality materials and it has a less expensive Audio-Technica VM95E cartridge.
• It also cannot stream records to non-Sonos devices via Wi-Fi, something that the more expensive models can do.
