Pixel Watch 3 gets FDA clearance for Loss of Pulse alerts

Summary
Google has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Loss of Pulse Detection feature on the Pixel Watch 3.
The feature will start to be rolled out in the US at the end of March, and will automatically call emergency services if the wearer does not respond to a prompt after the device detects a pulse loss.
The tool was made available in the European Union in September 2024, but requires clearance from regulatory agencies in other regions.
The Pixel Watch 3 also has an ECG function that can check the heart’s electrical activity and detect atrial fibrillation.
This functionality is available in the US and Australia, but not in the EU, where it requires an additional, yet to be obtained, regulatory approval.
