According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s Apple Intelligence was supposed to deliver a more sophisticated Siri,
however, internal strife and obstructions to hardware acquisition have hindered Apple’s AI ambitions,
Gurman believes Apple will not release a fully modernised Siri capable of seamless interaction until 2027 at the earliest.
Amazon has similarly struggled to upgrade its Alexa AI offering and recently announced significant delays to new devices featuring the new Alexa Plus model.
This highlights the challenges faced by both companies in developing their AI assistants.
However, Apple appears to be lagging further behind, as it has struggled to acquire the hardware it needs and lost employees to its rivals.
This has allowed Amazon and other companies to take the lead in developing AI technology.
