Xiaomi 15 Ultra review: ugly phone, beautiful camera

Summary
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is a flagship phone with a quad rear camera setup that includes a new periscope lens with a 200-megapixel sensor that delivers excellent image quality.
The camera module is quite large and awkwardly styled, detracting from the phone’s overall design, but it houses a 3x telephoto lens that offers macro photography capabilities and an ultra-wide lens together with the new periscope lens.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage powers the device which features a 6.73-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display.
It has a large 5,410mAh battery that supports up to 80W wireless charging and runs Android 15 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS on top, which has fewer customisation options than previous versions and includes several Xiaomi and Google services apps.
Retailing at £1,299 / €1,499 (around $1,600), the price is the phone’s main downside as competitors like Vivo and Oppo may soon offer similar offerings at lower prices.
