Instagram’s Threads: all the updates on the new Twitter competitor
1 min read
Summary
Threads, Instagram’s Twitter competitor that launched in July, is gaining features fast to attract users.
It’s now letting people share custom feeds they’ve made, pin each other’s custom feeds and it’s even allowing scheduling of posts.
More precise search features and AI-generated summaries of what other users are talking about are also in the works.
In addition, users will be able to select the default feed they see when they open the app – either the main feed, their Following feed, or any custom feeds they’ve set up.
Finally, Meta is planning to start running ads on Threads in early 2025, according to reports.
At the same time, Instagram’s boss, Adam Mosseri, has confirmed that Meta is “definitely” planning to do this.
