On 27 October Microsoft held a special New York City event unveiling an overhaul of its Copilot experience along with several other new features.
The new Copilot capabilities include a virtual news presenter mode, the ability to see what the user is looking at, and a voice feature that enables natural conversations with Copilot, similar to OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode.
Microsoft has also announced an AI-powered Windows Search for Copilot Plus PCs, including a Google Circle to Search-like “Click to Do” feature, and the ability to search for an image using a text description.
Along with these features, Microsoft Windows 11 is receiving an updated Start menu and Phone Link, Paint, and Photos are gaining AI-powered Generative Fill and Erase tools.
Generative Erasing is similar to Google Pixel’s Magic Eraser and is intended to allow creatives to become less reliant on more powerful image editing software.
In addition, Microsoft has announced a new AI-powered Asus NUC 14 Pro AI mini-PC.
