The future of BMW is being built at a battery factory in Germany

Summary
BMW has doubled down on electric vehicle (EV) technology in a bid to take the lead from Tesla and increase its market share, according to insiders.
Last year, the German carmaker pledged to offer an EV in every vehicle segment across all its brands, including Mini and Rolls-Royce, and invested billions of dollars in EV technology and battery factories.
It revealed its new ‘Neue Klasse’ EV platform last March, which will be underpinned by the firm’s new ‘Gen 6’ battery packs that offer a 30% increase in range and charging speeds, and a 20% boost in energy density, at a much lower cost.
The new platform is set to debut on a production version of the iX Flow Concept, a version of the iX luxury EV that can change its colour at the touch of a button.
