Nvidia denies reports that its RTX 50 laptop GPUs are missing ROPs, too

Summary
German publications Heise Online and HardwareLuxx have reported that Nvidia has asked laptop manufacturers to check for a missing number of render output units (ROP), a feature present in Nvidia’s ray tracing technology.
Nvidia issued a blanket denial to the reports, stating that “no further issues” have been reported other than the ones already noted for its desktop GPUs.
However, this isn’t the first time that Nvidia has denied issues with its GPU products only to issue a complete reversal on its earlier statements.
The extent of the issue affecting its desktop GPUs remains to be seen, with reports of significantly affected GPUs being downgraded to the point of being bought back by the manufacture and a class-action lawsuit being initiated.
These reports likely won’t help consumer confidence in Nvidia’s offerings or the company’s PR processes.
