Jackbox Games has revealed plans to launch a beta of its new cloud-streaming service, which will be available on one or two smart TV platforms in spring 2025.
Initially, the streaming service will offer a free, limited selection of ad-supported games, with the full catalogue available for subscription at a later date.
The service will be built on Amazon’s new AWS GameLift Streams technology, which will give developers the tools to create their own cloud gaming apps and experiences.
Bandai Namco is also using the technology to stream its immersive metaverse platform to fans of the Gundam franchise.
Amazon’s Luna service, which offers a Jackbox Games channel, gives subscribers access to the company’s full catalogue of games for $4.99 per month.
