The Tesla protests are getting bigger — and rowdier

Weekend protests have escalated at Tesla across the nation with the boycott of CEO Elon Musk and his involvement with the Trump administration as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The movement, known as Tesla Takedown, encourages supporters to “sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket lines” as part of efforts to “stop Musk”.
Protests have been peaceful in some locations but there have also been reports of vandalism, arson and violence at other sites, including shots fired at a Tesla showroom in Oregon.
In Manhattan, over 350 protestors showed up on Saturday, coinciding with the International Women’s Day march making it larger.
A heavy police presence was in the area, with five protestors arrested for disorderly conduct and another for resisting arrest, obstruction and violation of local law.
Relatedly, Tesla’s sales dropped year over year for the first time and its stock price has also plummeted more than 50% from its record high in December.
