Summary
US-based tech start-up, bee, has developed an AI wearable which aims to help users recall important information such as tasks and events.
The device, which costs $50, listens to conversations and creates transcripts, summarising key information and creating daily diary entries as well as a “fact Tinder” for the user to interact with.
It also uses information from other apps and services, with the user’s permission, including emails, contacts, photos, calendar and location services.
Applicable scenarios include meetings, family reunions and everyday tasks that the user wants to remember.
The company stresses that no audio files are saved and that all data is encrypted, although the device does present some privacy concerns.
It is iOS only and some users have found the algorithm unreliable, and that the device occasionally records conversations it shouldn’t.
