Google calls Gemma 3 the most powerful AI model you can run on one GPU

Google has updated its Gemma family of artificial intelligence (AI) models, releasing Gemma 3, which it claims is the “world’s best single-accelerator model”.
It outperforms competition in terms of the performance of AI models on a host with a single GPU.
Gemma 3 supports over 35 languages and can analyse text, images and short videos, and the models can be used to create AI apps that can run on phones, workstations or anywhere else.
The update includes an upgraded vision encoder that supports higher resolution images that are not presented in a square.
Another new feature is ShieldGemma 2, an image safety classifier that filters out content deemed sexually explicit, dangerous or violent.
