Summary
Tesla is developing a $25K EV – a promise Elon Musk made back in 2018.
However, recent reports had suggested the project was cancelled.
But on an earnings call, Musk revealed Tesla is pressing ahead with a aim to have it on the market by 2025.
The car is expected to be a crossover or hatchback, and could take styling cues from the firm’s Cybertruck.
It will be built on the company’s next-generation engineering platform.
Along with the more affordable car, Musk also confirmed that the firm is set to launch an “unsupervised, no one in the car” robotaxi service in Austin, Texas in June.
It follows reports that Tesla is planning to launch a robotaxi service in late 2024.
