Gemini can now personalize its answers based on your search history

Summary
Google is integrating its search function into its chatbot Gemini to give it a competitive edge in the chatbot market.
When users ask questions in Gemini, the chatbot can refer to their search history to “enhance” its response, using this data only if its AI model deems it helpful.
This is part of a wider strategy to make Gemini more personalised, which will eventually connect it to other Google apps including YouTube and Google Photos, drawing on a user’s activities and preferences.
All Gemini users will be able to create their own personal assistants called Gems for free. Google is also bringing its Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model to its Deep Research feature, which it says improves the chatbot’s capabilities.
Gemini is being updated to the 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model across Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Photos as well.
These upgrades are being rolled out on mobile and available in over 40 languages.
