Xbox 360 consoles can now be hacked with just a USB key

Summary
Xbox 360 modders have found a new way to run unsigned code and games on the console.
A software-only exploit called BadUpdate uses a USB key to unlock Microsoft’s Hypervisor protections.
Unlike other existing exploits, BadUpdate doesn’t require the user to open the console, and only needs a USB key and a trial version of Rock Band Blitz to work.
YouTuber Modern Vintage Gamer has demonstrated the exploit, which can be used to run games, apps, emulators and custom dashboards via the Xbox 360 homebrew store.
However, pirates will need to manually patch each executable, and the exploit needs to be run every time the console is booted.
A detailed guide to using BadUpdate is available on GitHub.
