Bumble is introducing optional identification verification for some users, with a view to rolling it out further and encouraging more people to undertake the process.
Users that verify their identity will receive a badge on their profile, but it is not mandatory.
Also new is a “Share Date” feature allowing users to share their date plans with family and friends, with the ability to update those plans from directly within the app.
Bumble has also introduced an alert system for users that try to send messages that violate the platform’s behavioural guidelines.
The new features are the first major developments on the dating platform since founder Whitney Wolfe Herd returned as CEO this month.
