The EU wants Apple to open these iOS features to other gadgets

Summary
Apple has been told by the European Union (EU) that it must improve the interoperability of its iOS system by the end of 2025.
The EU wants Apple to adhere to nine connectivity features outlined in its Digital Markets Act (DMA), which would force it to open up its operating system to competitors.
These features include enabling other devices to collect information from connected iPhones, such as weather updates, as well as the ability to jump between different devices, for example, going from an iPad to an iPhone.
Additionally, other companies’ headphones will be able to access the same high-bandwidth connections as Apple headphones, which is currently an iOS-only feature.
The EU has said that failure by Apple to implement these changes by the deadline could result in the company facing a non-compliance investigation and potentially heavy fines.
