Following the recent video by Mark Rober that tested Tesla’s self-driving capabilities by using a “fake road” which the car failed to stop for, a new video has been posted showing similar tests using FSD versions 13.2.8 on a Cybertruck and 12.5.4.2 on a Model Y.
The Model Y failed to stop, but the Cybertruck did detect the obstacle and came to a halt.
It should be noted that the Model Y used in the test had a HW3 computer, while the Cybertruck, which had the latest hardware, included HW4 / AI4 system and cameras.
The recent shortcomings of Tesla’s FSD have led to questions about whether the software is good enough to keep users safe on the road.
The company is currently facing lawsuits due to crashes involving the Autopilot system.
