Wyze’s new camera filter claims to cut down on nuisance alerts

Summary
Wyze has launched an AI filter for its security cameras to reduce the number of unnecessary notifications for users.
Named the “No Big Deal” (NBD) filter, the AI scores events on a scale of 1-5, only notifying users of highly ranked events that require attention.
Examples of low importance, or score 1, events include routine activities or bugs flying by; events that might warrant attention include package deliveries or a baby crying (score 3); critical events are characterized by factors such as glass breaking or a gunshot (score 5).
The NBD filter is included in Wyze’s Cam Unlimited Pro subscription, which costs 19.99permonthor199.99 per year.
Users will still have access to all event recordings in the app, with the NBD filter intended to reduce notification fatigue and improve the relevance of information delivered to users.
Wyze’s new filter follows the launch of AI-powered descriptive alerts in January and AI-powered search in 2024.
