Helldivers 2 is locking out players who use older CPUs

Summary
A growing number of HellDivers 2 players with older PCs are reporting that they can no longer play the game on their hardware, despite previously being able to do so since the game’s PC launch in 2022.
HellDivers 2’s developer Arrowhead Game Studios and publisher Sony recently began enforcing a requirement that players use systems that support AVX2 (Advanced Vector Extensions), which has been a feature of many CPUs since 2013.
Users with older hardware canno longer circumvent the requirement, which was not properly enforced when the game originally launched.
Some users have voiced their frustration on the HellDivers 2 Discord server, with one user stating that they had accumulated over 600 hours on the game and were now considering requesting a refund rather than purchasing a new system to play it.
The developer has since acknowledged the problem and is now working on a fix.
