Summary
After testing the Razer Blade 16, David has mixed feelings about it, despite loving much of the hardware, such as the 16-inch, 2560 x 1600 OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, and the keyboard and trackpad.
However, the column of macro keys on the right causes him to unintentionally mute the microphone when he wants to hit the right arrow, which is a problem that could have been fixed by using the standard inverted-T arrow key arrangement.
The thinner and lighter chassis is an improvement, but he needs to do more testing to see if it is as good at cooling as the last model, and wonders whether thicker gaming laptops might extract more power from the RTX 5090.
Despite being impressed with how cool it runs under load, David thinks the price is excessive if random crashes occur and the battery needs charging multiple times per day, when the same amount of money could get a user a MacBook Pro and a more powerful desktop computer or a more respectable gaming laptop.
