Summary
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has a new release date of June 4th, 2027, following previous production delays, according to Sony at this year’s CinemaCon expo.
The delay comes after reports of overwork among the animators on the previous film in the franchise, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which was also delayed due to production issues.
Despite the new date, co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, and producer Phil Lord, say the delays have been beneficial to the project.
Sony also released a new trailer and a number of images from the film at the expo, featuring the characters Miles Morales, Miles G. Morales, and Gwen Stacy.
It’s the third installment in the Spider-Verse franchise, which is a series of animated films centered on different Spidermen and women across the multiverse.
