Summary
Sissie Hsaio oversaw the launch of Bard, Google’s AI chatbot, and has now stepped down as head of the Gemini app to be replaced by Josh Woodward, Google Labs vice president.
Hsaio has taken a break from Google and will return in a new role after almost 20 years with the company.
Woodward will retain his role as Labs head and will also take on duties relating to the next chapter of Gemini.
Woodward developed NotebookLM, Google’s AI-powered note-taking app.
The tool can transform research into a podcast with two AI-generated ‘hosts’ and has now been included in Google’s One AI Premium subscription package following a successful trial in Gemini’s Deep Research feature.
