Jaguar Land Rover pauses US shipments over Trump tariffs

Summary
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has delayed vehicle shipments to the US as it assesses the impact of President Donald Trump’s 25% tariff on imported vehicles.
The news follows an announcement by Nintendo this week that it had delayed the start of US preorders for its Switch 2 console due to the same tariff concerns.
The UK-based carmaker, which sells around a quarter of its 400,000 annual vehicles to US buyers, said it had taken the decision to pause shipments in April to develop longer-term plans.
Existing US stocks are enough to last about two months, analysts have estimated, and it would take 21 days for new vehicles to reach the country once shipments restart.
The Trump administration’s latest tariffs, which came into force on 6 April, have added 5,000−10,000 to the cost of several vehicles imported into the US.
