If you own a laptop and a phone, the most convenient way to get your laptop connected to the internet when you’re not at home or the office is to use your phone’s hotspot.
When you use your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot it can be more secure and you might even get better upload and download speeds - but it can also drain your phone’s battery life and your data allowance may be restricted.
To set up a hotspot on Android go to Settings, choose Network & Internet, then Hotspot & tethering, toggle Wi-Fi hotspot to enable it, and then adjust the Wi-Fi name and password options as you see fit.
To set up a hotspot on Samsung Galaxy go to Settings, select Connections, then Mobile Hotspot and Tethering, toggle Mobile Hotspot on, and check the network name and password options.
To set up a hotspot on iPhone go to Settings, tap Personal Hotspot, turn on the Allow Others to Join toggle switch, and enable Maximize Compatibility if desired.
