Summary
Chinese phone manufacturer Oppo is competing with Xiaomi and Vivo to create the best camera phone, but it seems to be taking a different approach.
While competitors Xiaomi and Vivo are prioritising large phones with large batteries and multiple camera lenses, Oppo is focusing on creating a “relatively normal phone”.
The Find X8 Ultra is comfortableably thinner than competitors and still includes an enormous 6,100mAh battery.
It has four 50-megapixel rear lenses tuned by Hasselblad, including 3x and 6x periscopes upgraded with faster apertures, a dedicated haptic shutter button, and touch controls for zooming.
It also includes 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage, and ships with both IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The X8 Ultra was launched alongside the Find X8s and X8s Plus, which feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus chip.
