Mike Flanagan is adapting Stephen King’s Carrie for Amazon

Summary
Three years after signing a deal with Amazon, Mike Flanagan is set to adapt Stephen King’s 1974 novel Carrie for the studio.
This will be the latest King novel that Flanagan has adapted after The Life of Chuck, Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game.
He will write and showrun the series in addition to directing a number of episodes, while also acting as executive producer.
Amazon has not yet made any official casting announcements, but it is reported that Summer H. Howell and Siena Agudong are in discussion to play the roles of Carrie White and cheerleader Sue Snell respectively.
Vernon Sanders, Amazon MGM’s head of TV, described Carrie as having “withstood the test of time with continued cultural relevance”.
