Summary
Bungie, the studio behind Halo and Destiny, has revealed a new game called Marathon, which is a PvPvE extraction shooter set in a sci-fi universe.
It is set to launch on 23 September 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC, and the beta version of the game will be available from 23 April.
Players compete in missions to scavenge for loot amongst the ruins of a lost colony, while avoiding or fighting both rival players and hostile creatures.
There are four runner profiles to choose from in the beta - Void, Glitch, Locus and Blackbird - with six available at the launch.
It has produced an original short cinematic set in the Marathon universe, which is intended to provide more backstory to the game.
The game is not free, and Bungie is yet to announce the pricing structure.
