Sony has increased the price of its PS5 in certain markets including the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, due to continued rising costs.
The price rise is between 10-15%, the second time Sony has increased the price of its flagship console since its release.
While Sony has not raised the US price of the PS5 yet, analysts expect that it will likely do so soon, given that the increased cost of importing hardware from China is likely to mitigate the effect of the price rises in other markets.
The price rises come as Nintendo is expected to launch a new version of its Switch console later this year, but North American pre-orders have not yet been announced.
It is expected that Nintendo will follow Sony’s lead and also raise prices due to increased costs and tariffs on Chinese imports.
Nintendo has also delayed the launch of its Switch in Canada.
