Summary
Nvidia has released a new GPU driver to fix a string of issues, including bugs and crashes, which should hopefully resolve the stability issues affecting RTX 50-series GPUs that have been frustrating gamers and NFT miners alike ever since the launch of DLSS 4.
The new driver (version 576.02) also adds support for the new GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPU, starting at $379, which is also being released today, and includes fixes for issues including random black screens, system crashes and blue screens.
Just as importantly, the new driver also plugs security holes that could potentially allow malware to gain admin privileges, as noted by TechSpot.
Nvidia’s Mueller comments on Microsoft acquisition speculation
Nvidia continues to emphatically deny that it is trying to acquire UK chip designer Arm, despite growing speculation that a deal is close to announcement, and a statement from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that it intends to launch a “comprehensive investigation” into the proposed $66bn takeover.
