Summary
Xbox is allowing users to purchase games and sign up for Game Pass directly from its mobile app, but remote play will no longer be available within the app.
The update is currently only available for beta testers on iOS and Android, but Xbox expects to roll it out to everyone soon.
Game purchases can be made directly through the app, and preorders, pre-installs and Game Pass perks are also available.
Remote play will not be available through the app, but can still be accessed through a mobile browser and will be available on Samsung TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices and Meta Quest headsets.
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to stream selected games from the Series X, Series S and Xbox One consoles without having to download them first.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and Subnautica 2 have also been added to the ‘stream your own game’ collection.
Game hub updates include player stats, achievements, friends currently playing and events, alongside relevant add-ons.
