It appears Zoom has suffered an outage, with users worldwide complaining of problems connecting to meetings.
On social media, posts from users of the video conferencing service documented the issues, which appeared to begin at around 14:40 EST.
“Unable to connect” messages were common, while others said they could not log in at all, and the Zoom website became inaccessible, returning a 502 Bad Gateway error.
One possible reason for the outage could be a “server hold”, which can be caused by a domain not being activated in the DNS.
This would make it completely inaccessible and could be due to verification, fraud or security issues.
Zoom’s domain registry issue appeared to be fixed around 16:12 EST, but it could take time for the service to come back fully online for all users.
