Nvidia’s GPU drivers have experienced a number of issues since the company launched its RTX 50-series cards in January, including black screens, games crashes and stability problems for both new and existing graphics cards.
Because rolling back to an earlier driver version repairs the problems, Nvidia has issued a series of fixes, however these have inadvertently caused issues with GPU monitoring utilities not reporting correct GPU temperatures, necessitating the release of a hotfix driver.
While this addresses some pressing issues, gamers are still reporting a number of issues with games using G-Sync, and Nvidia is tracking 15 open issues with its most recent driver that will hopefully be fixed in a later release.
This continues to be a turbulent launch for Nvidia, with power cables melting, some GPUs missing render units and difficulties in obtaining cards at retail prices.
