OpenAI has formed a partnership with The Washington Post, to make its news more accessible in ChatGPT, a large language model (LLM).
The partnership will enable the LLM to display summaries, quotes and links to the newspaper’s original reporting when customers ask relevant questions.
More than 500 million people use ChatGPT each week to obtain answers to a range of questions, OpenAI claimed.
The deal is the latest in a series of partnerships that OpenAI has signed with more than 20 news publishers, including several of the largest media companies, such as the Financial Times, for their content to be featured in ChatGPT.
The goal is to make sure that ChatGPT users have credible news at their fingertips, bolstering the company’s commitment to provide access to content whenever and however audiences want it.
However, critics of the platform contend that the information presented to users may not always be reliable.
