Intel will require four-day office work week as it aims to ‘flatten organization’

Summary
Intel has been going through significant changes since the arrival of new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, in March, with 20% of the company’s workforce expected to be let go.
However, the company’s spokesperson has said there are no plans for a mass cull, and it will look to retain and recruit key talent.
Instead, Intel employees will be expected to work four days a week in the office, up from three previously, while the company looks to remove “unnecessary bureaucracy” from its structure.
In a memo sent to employees and reported by The Verge, Tan said organisational complexity and bureaucracy had stifled innovation, and it was his priority to flatten the company structure to make it “leaner and faster”.
