Summary
Shein, Temu and AliExpress have begun notifying shoppers that prices will rise on April 25 as a result of Donald Trump’s tariffs on Chinese imports.
Items such as children’s fleeces and women’s clothing have already seen price hikes according to spot checks by The Verge.
Prices were mostly stable until March this year, however, some items are reported to have doubled in cost.
The current tariff rate on Chinese imports is 145%, with an additional tax of 100or120800.
Small businesses that import components to assemble products domestically have also been affected, with supplies becoming unavailable on AliExpress for some.
Following the introduction of the tariffs, a group of tabletop game companies sued the Trump administration, branding the taxes ‘unlawful and unconstitutional’.
