DJI has announced the end of life of its final two Phantom drones, the Phantom 4 Pro and Phantom 4 Advanced, more than seven years after production of the drones ceased.
Support will be suspended for the two drones on 1 June 2025.
While DJI was not the first company to produce off-the-shelf flying quadcopter cameras, the Phantom was one of the first ready-to-fly models adopted by both consumers and video production professionals, with the silhouette of the drone becoming a recognisable symbol for drones more widely.
With DJI now producing other brands such as the Inspire, Mavic, Air, Mini and Flip, it appears the company no longer needs the Phantom brand.
