While he was at Sony,64-year-old former Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Shawn Layden became one of the first 80 people working on the first PlayStation.

The first project he worked on as a producer was Crash Bandicoot, after which he became responsible for bringing more major titles to PlayStation like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
One of his favourite achievements was the creation of Worldwide Studios, and he explains how this brought the hardware and software teams closer together to create the PS4 and PS Vita.
Layden also speaks about his passion for working with indie developers and his conviction that the next PlayStation will not arrive until 2028, a whole decade after the PS5.
After 38 years at Sony, Layden left the company at the beginning of this year.
He plans to continue to work with independent game developers.
