A Stytch in time: Connected Apps untangles authorization tie-ups for AI agents
1 min read
Summary
AI agents are set to become used more frequently for ID authorisation, with SaaS companies set to become their own identity providers.
This will allow them to securely authenticate, access data and take action on behalf of users.
Stytch has created Connected Apps to enable this, allowing any SaaS company to become its own identity provider.
This in turn will allow third-party apps and AI agents to verify user identity, access information and act on behalf of users in a permissioned way.
OAuth protocol OpenID Connect is used as the framework for the platform, which also incorporates consent and access management, human-in-the-loop authorisation and standards-driven architecture to help protect sensitive B2B data.
Crew Finance is one early adopter of the platform, with its AI agent ‘Penny’ set to be used outside the Crew app in the future.
