Game industry veteran Carter Lipscomb, often referred to as Doctor Business, has passed away, although the cause of death was not disclosed.
Lipscomb spent over 11 years at Sony Interactive Entertainment and more recently worked at Iron Galaxy Studios.
His Facebook post on the death of Carter, written in his characteristic voice, reveals that he had a history of heart disease and had collapsed during a run some years previously.
Lipscomb was also the co-founder of the Video Game Supper Club in San Francisco, and his memory was honoured by industry colleagues, many of whom attended the club’s dinners.
They described him as a positive force of nature in the industry who was loved by all, with one commenting, “The industry will never know your like again, and is a sadder, emptier place because of it.
