Summary
French start-up Ovomind is preparing to unveil its emotion-driven gaming experience at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco in March 2025.
The system, which the company refers to as ‘affective computing’, uses a wearable smartband to detect players’ real-time emotional responses to in-game events.
Developers can then harness this data to create bespoke moments within their games that elicit stronger reactions from players.
Ovomind claims its approach will create deeply involving experiences where games are tailored to user emotions, creating uniquely personal engagements with the titles they enjoy.
The company is currently offering developers the Ovomind DK1 Developer Bundle, which ships with a smartband and software kit, for $199.
