Metro creator 4A Games rebrands as Reburn and unveils new title La Quimera

Video game developer 4A Games, founded in Ukraine in 2006 and known for the Metro franchise, has changed its name to Reburn and unveiled its first new intellectual property (IP), La Quimera.
While the Metro games are set in a post-apocalyptic world and are somewhat dark in tone, La Quimera is a brighter game and is set in a Latin American megalopolis and jungle.
It features a customised exosuit for a private military company (PMC) soldier and incorporates Latin American folklore with advanced weaponry.
The game is single-player but also allows two friends to play in co-op.
4A Games was originally established in Kyiv, but developers split after Russia’s first attack on Ukraine in 2014, with some moving to Malta to establish 4A Malta, which was later acquired by Embracer Group in 2020.
CEO Dmytro Lymar said the company’s new name reflects its new direction and game offerings.
